One of the biggest gripes from Shopify merchants in South Africa has been the limited shipping functionality. Customising the shipping rates has traditionally been difficult and merchants have always found shipping a pain point.
The good news is that we fixed this and created an app for South African Shopify merchants. With the Custom Shipping Zones App by uAfrica.com you can now specify shipping rates and service levels according to your customer’s South African postcode.
In a similar way to how couriers charge you according to zones and service levels, our app can be configured according to your own custom zones and service levels and then you’re able to create rates based on product weight and/or price. The default zones provided on installation are set to local, main centres and regional.
When your customer enters their postal code on checkout your store then presents the most relevant shipping rates to them according to their zone classification and order weight. You don’t even have to worry about uploading a post code file, it’s all done for you. You can also test your rates and check out historical rates presented to your customers. This app is an absolute must-have for all South African Shopify stores.
