If the value of the goods is R1,000.00 and below, then The Courier Guy will automatically assume liability at no extra cost. However, insurance needs to be specified per waybill in order to claim for the value of the goods above R1,000.00.

Conditions to apply to:

• Insurance must be indicated on a per waybill basis.
• Parcels must be packaged to withstand the normal rigours of transportation. It is the responsibility of the merchant to ensure that parcels are packed according to the specifications of the Courier. If the Courier finds the parcel to be insufficiently packaged and conclude that damage was caused due to this reason, they have the right to deny the insurance claim.
• Electronics/ gadgets must be in original packaging, sealed and brand new.
• Client must be able to prove, with reasonable satisfaction of the carrier, that the article has been lost or damaged and that such damage was caused by the carrier.
• The maximum liability of the Courier to the Client shall, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be the lesser of the insured value (as provided by the Client on the waybill), and R30,000.00.

Cost relating to insurance:

• If the insured value is R1,000.00 and below, then The Courier Guy will automatically assume liability at no extra cost. Thus, all parcels shipped with The Courier Guy via Bob Go will automatically be insured up to the value of R1,000.00.
• If the value insured is above R1,000.00 but below R2,500.00, then a fixed fee of R 50.00 will be charged.
• If the value insured is above R2,501.00, then 2% of the value insured will be charged.
• Bob Go charges 2% of the cost of the insurance as an administration fee.
• The value insured is limited to a maximum of R30,000.00. This means that if the value insured is more than R30,000.00, insurance on that item will not be allowed. It will require the merchant to contact Bob Go directly in order to assist the merchant in arranging for special insurance with the courier. The Courier has the right to deny the request or ask a higher fee than specified above.
• If a parcel’s volume is bigger than 1m x 1m x 1m and/or it weighs more than 50kg, The Courier Guy will not accept any liability.
• Excess charged, for which the merchant is liable, when processing a claim:
  • Hijack: minimum of at least 15% of declared value.
  • Non-hijacking or no theft a minimum of 10% of the declared value.
  • The excess amounts above will automatically be deducted prior to settlement.

Products that cannot be insured or for which liability will not be accepted:

It is advised that you contact the Courier before you insure a parcel, in order to confirm that the type of product is insurable. The Courier Guy only offers insurance on certain types of products, provided that they meet all of the specified packaging requirements; others, due to their nature, cannot be insured and for which liability will not be accepted. The Courier Guy will not take liability for high value goods, especially cellphones and laptops. We urge customers not to ship these types of parcels with The Courier Guy.

• The maximum liability of the Courier to the Client shall, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be the lesser of the insured value (as provided by the Client on the waybill), and R5,000.

• A fee of R10.00 excluding VAT will be charged per R1,000.00 of the declared insured value.
• The value insured is limited to R5,000.00, which means that if the value insured is more than R5,000.00, insurance on that item will not be allowed. It will require the merchant to contact Bob Go directly in order to assist the merchant in arranging for special insurance with the Courier. The Courier has the right to deny the request or ask a higher fee than specified above.

• Parcels must be packaged to withstand the normal rigours of transportation. It is the responsibility of the merchant to ensure that parcels are packed according to the specifications of the Courier. If the Courier finds the parcel to be insufficiently packaged and conclude that damage was caused due to this reason, they have the right to deny the insurance claim.
• Clients must be able to prove, with reasonable satisfaction of the carrier, that the article has been lost or damaged and that such damage was caused by the carrier.
• Internet Express will not take any liability when shipping parcels that weigh more than 30kg, may that be volumetric weight or actual weight. Internet Express has the right to deny collecting a parcel if the weight is over and above 30kg.

Cost relating to insurance:

• If the insured value is R100.00 and below, then Internet Express will automatically assume liability at no extra cost. Thus, all parcels shipped with Internet Express via Bob Go will automatically be insured up to the value of R100.00.
• If the value insured is above R100.01 and less than R2,500.00, then a fixed R11.50 per waybill will be charged.
• If the value insured is above R2,500.01 and less than R5,000.00, then a fixed R23.00 per waybill will be charged.
• If the value insured is above R5,000.01 and less than R10,000.00, then a fixed R57.50 per waybill will be charged.
• The value insured is limited to a maximum of R10,000.00. This means that if the value insured is more than R10,000.00, insurance on that item will not be allowed via Internet Express.
• The value insured is only for the direct cost of the replacement of the goods and does not include any indirect or consequential damages.

How to claim:

• Any claim for loss or damage to a parcel shipped with Internet Express must be lodged within 24-48 hours with the Bob Go Support Team. In order for the claim to be valid, it is also required that the packaging of the damaged parcel be retained.
• All required documentation from the Courier must be completed as per their terms and conditions. This will be conveyed to merchants as soon as a claim is lodged.
• Any supporting documentation that the merchant can give is helpful, including photos (if possible), as well as an invoice of the cost value of the goods (not to be made out to Internet Express, but simply to show the replacement cost).
• The merchant is required to submit all documentation within 5 business days from receiving the documentation. If documents are not received within this period, the claim(s) will be forfeited.
• The Courier will then submit the claim to their relevant insurer and provide the merchant with feedback.

• Parcels must be packaged to withstand the normal rigours of transportation. It is the responsibility of the merchant to ensure that parcels are packed according to the specifications of the SkyNet. If the Courier finds the parcel to have been insufficiently packaged, and conclude that damage was caused due to this reason, they have the right to deny the insurance claim. 
• Clients must be able to prove, with reasonable satisfaction of the Courier, that the article has been lost or damaged and that such damage was caused by the Courier.
• The maximum liability of the Courier to the Client shall, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be the lesser of the insured value (as provided by the Client on the waybill), and R100,000.00.

SkyNet prohibits the following items for shipment to any destination and Sender agrees not to ship the same, unless expressly agreed otherwise by SkyNet (additional restrictions may apply depending on origin and destination):

a) it contains complete firearms, ammunition, explosives, explosive devices or test pieces, air guns, replica or imitation firearms; counterfeit goods;
b) Human corpses, human organs or body parts, human or animal embryos, cremated or disinterred human remains; Live / dead animals, including insects and pets;
c) Plants and plant material, including cut flowers;
d) Perishable foodstuffs, and foods and beverages requiring refrigeration or other environmental control;
e) Money, including but not limited to cash and cash equivalents (e.g. negotiable instruments, endorsed stocks, bonds and cash letters), collectible coins and stamps;
f) Hazardous waste, including but not limited to, used hypodermic needles and/or syringes or other medical, organic and industrial waste);
g) Wet ice (frozen water);
h) Counterfeit goods, including, but not limited to, goods under a trademark that is identical to or substantially indistinguishable from a registered trademark, without the approval or oversight of the registered trademark owner;
i) Marijuana, including marijuana intended for recreational or medicinal use, and marijuanaderived cannabidiol (CBD), any product with a delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis, and synthetic cannabinoids
j) Raw or unrefined hemp plants, or their subparts (including, but not limited to, hemp stalks, hemp leaves, hemp flowers and hemp seeds).
k) Tobacco and tobacco products, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, loose tobacco, smokeless tobacco, hookah or shisha; and
l) Electronic cigarettes and their component parts, any other similar device that relies on vaporization or aerosolization, and any non-combustible liquid or gel, regardless of the presence of nicotine, that can be used with any such device.
m) it is classified as hazardous material, dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted articles under ADR (European Road Transport Regulation on dangerous goods) or by IATA (International Air Transport Association), ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), or other relevant organization (“Dangerous Goods”).

SkyNet prohibits the following types of Shipments to any destinations and Sender agrees not to ship the same (additional restrictions may apply depending on origin and destination):

a) Shipments or commodities, the carriage, importation or exportation of which is prohibited by any law, statute or regulation;
b) Shipments that require SkyNet to obtain any special license or permit for transportation, importation or exportation;
c) Undeclared, excisable shipments or commodities that require regulatory approval and clearance;
d) Shipments with a declared value for customs in excess of that permitted for a specific destination;
e) Dangerous goods, except as permitted under the Dangerous Goods section of these terms and conditions; and
f) Packages that are wet, leaking or emit an odour of any kind.

SkyNet excludes all liability for Prohibited Items howsoever accepted (including acceptance by mistake or under notice). SkyNet reserves the right to reject Packages based upon these limitations or for reasons of security or safety. SkyNet shall be entitled to charge an administrative fee for Packages rejected and for the costs of returning goods, where applicable, to the Sender.
