Shipping Rates for WooCommerce

WooCommerce Plugin 2.0

  1. In order to use uAfrica Shipping Rates with WooCommerce, you will need to add your valid and active WooCommerce store as a sales channel on your uAfrica account.
  2. Once the sales channel has been set up, go to the WooCommerce admin site and install uAfrica as a plugin. 
  3. Go to Plugins and click “Add New” and search for “uafrica” or “uafrica shipping” in the search bar.
  4. Click “Install Now” on the plugin to install it.
  5. Once installed, it will be listed under your installed plugins. It is important to note that the plugin needs to be Version 2 or higher for it to work. If not, you will get a notification to upgrade your plugin, either under the “Updates” or the “Installed Plugins” tab.

  6. To use uAfrica Shipping Rates, go to the “WooCommerce” tab, then click “Settings”. Alternatively, click on “Shipping” under the uAfrica Shipping plugin name.
  7. Under the “Shipping” sub-menu, you will see “uAfrica Shipping Rates” as an option. Here, you can determine how your shipping rates will look at checkout.
  8. To enable uAfrica Shipping Rates, you need to select “Enable” and then set up your shipping rates on your uAfrica account. Once set up, these rates will pull through to your WooCommerce store checkout. Please note that the WooCommerce plugin (Version 2) supports Fixed Rates or Real-Time Rates from uAfrica.

  9. There is also an option to “Hide WooCommerce Shipping Rates”. Selecting this option will hide the shipping rates that you have set up on your WooCommerce store admin and only show your uAfrica Shipping Rates. 
  10. It is important to always save your changes on WooCommerce in order for the changes to reflect on your store checkout. Also, remember to test your rates!
