The Orders tab displays all orders that have been placed on your online sales channel and have pulled through to the uAfrica platform. This allows you to manage all of your orders on one central dashboard. The Orders tab has not changed much with the V3 system upgrade, but we’ve simply added a few elements and made some design changes.
Order fulfillment has also not changed much, with the exception of the fulfillment opening up as a modal. The first step of fulfillment is the confirmation of the collection and delivery address, as well as the option to change the parcel dimensions, do a partial fulfillment or add special requests.
Once that has been confirmed, rates can be requested. A variety of quotes from the uAfrica courier partners will be displayed, of which a rate can be selected. Upon fulfillment, you will receive the fulfillment confirmation, along with the waybill number and the option to download or print the waybill.
Merchants are able to create returns for orders directly on the order details page. Using the “Create Return” button, merchants must accept the terms and instructions before continuing. The return is then created as a shipment, but with the merchant address as the delivery address and the customer address now the collection address.
What is the difference between Orders and Shipments?
With the uAfrica V3 System Upgrade, we are introducing the ability to create a shipment without an order. Creating a shipment will now allow you to send parcels from A to B that did not come through as an order.
For example, an order from a customer pulls through from your online store to the Orders tab. Once the order is fulfilled, a collection request is sent to the courier and it now becomes a Shipment. The shipment is thus linked to the Order and vice versa. However, I also need to send a parcel from my home to my mother, so I create a Shipment for this, as it is not linked to an order.
