One really cool feature that we’ve added to the V3 system upgrade is the ability to create a shipment without an order. What this means is that you can still fulfill your orders as usual, but you can also ship a parcel from A to B that did not come through as an order. After adding a collection and delivery address, parcel details and additional options, users are able to select a rate, which then creates a shipment, much like with order fulfillment.
Shipments, whether created manually or linked to an order, are available in the Shipments tag and Manifests can be created using the bulk selection method.
What is the difference between Orders and Shipments?
With the uAfrica V3 System Upgrade, we are introducing the ability to create a shipment without an order. Creating a shipment will now allow you to send parcels from A to B that did not come through as an order.
For example, an order from a customer pulls through from your online store to the Orders tab. Once the order is fulfilled, a collection request is sent to the courier and it now becomes a Shipment. The shipment is thus linked to the Order and vice versa. However, I also need to send a parcel from my home to my mother, so I create a Shipment for this, as it is not linked to an order.
